Overview

Frosty's Saloon & Grill, nestled in the heart of Napavine along West Front Street, is a genuine bar and grill that embodies the charm of a classic American tavern while serving up hearty, satisfying fare. Stepping into Frosty’s is like stepping back to a simpler time, with vintage bar stools, a cozy, inviting atmosphere, and the hum of local life. The saloon dates back to 1901, and its long history is evident in its character and timeless appeal.

The menu at Frosty's is generous and diverse, with standout dishes that cater to all tastes. Their cheeseburgers—especially the Deluxe and Western varieties—are celebrated for their robust flavors and fresh ingredients, served on brioche or sourdough buns. The Fish and Chips is a highlight, perfectly crispy and paired with house-made tartar sauce, while garlic fries and the Mac N Jack add a tasty, indulgent twist to the plate. The breakfast offerings are equally compelling, featuring classics like Steak & Eggs, Eggs Benedict, and an array of breakfast sandwiches that draw early risers and locals alike.

Drink options complement the food well, with cold draft beers that have earned a reputation for being some of the coldest in the state. Their margaritas, including the Mango Jalapeño and Spicy Blackberry, provide refreshing, handcrafted choices that round out the experience. Frosty’s atmosphere appeals both to families—who are welcome until 9 pm—and to those seeking a lively night out with friends, enhanced by occasional live music and affordable entertainment such as a pool table.

The location is perfectly placed for travelers journeying between Seattle and Portland, making it a convenient and rewarding stop. Guests describe the food as consistently fresh, served promptly even late at night, with friendly service delivered right to the table after ordering at the bar. Whether you’re looking for a classic hamburger, a robust breakfast, or a place to unwind with a cold beer, Frosty’s Saloon & Grill offers a down-to-earth, welcoming spot with dishes that satisfy and a setting that feels like home.

I have heard about this place from a friend who lives in Napavine. Definitely coldest beer in the area. Good draft beer and can choices. Burgers look tasty so do the sandwiches. Had the fish & chips with house made tartar sauce. Try the potato salad it won't disappoint, so good. There is an area for families. Kids are allowed up until 9:00pm. Nice old bar with classic style stools. Pool table is only .50. you can smoke outside. Sometimes they have live music. According to the sign the bar has been open since 1901. The place is inexpensive 4 beers, fish & chips side of potato salad was $23 before tip. Worth the drive wherever you are driving from or to. Frosty's coldest beer in the state.

It's a Wednesday night and I'm driving between Seattle and Portland. I used Google maps to find a unique place to get a hamburger along the way. Frosty's popped up on the list as I stopped to use the restroom in Centralia. Looking at the photos of the food and reading the reviews it looked pretty good. It's pretty close to the freeway, not at the exit but definitely worth the few minutes of drive into the quaint town of Napavine. When I got there around 9:00 in the evening there were about 20 people in the bar. This is definitely a local spot. You order from the bar and the staff brings it to your table. I sat in a comfortable padded banquette. I ordered the western burger which was a burger with bacon, Swiss cheese, barbecue sauce, an onion ring, on a brioche bun. It came with onion rings on the side or you could have tots or fries or a salad. The cost was only $9.75. This hamburger was exceptional. There are quite a few varieties on the menu and I look forward to going back and trying more. This saloon and grill has a pretty broad menu including what looks to be a very good breakfast offering. And they serve food till 10:00 in the evening. Looks like there's a limited menu even after 10:00. I love to seek out local spots for a good hamburger where ever I travel. Frosty's is a highlight.
